I’m James “Red” Saunders. I have been a professional wood turner going on 13 years. I have won many awards and have had a piece of my work accepted at the Louise Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC. I have been demonstrating whenever asked and have taught the last few years at Rockingham Community College in Reidsville, NC. I have also taught one on one class in my shop. I have a passion for collecting and harvesting the wood I use. I have been known to travel great distances for different types of wood not found locally. My turnings are a variety of different shapes and objects. Natural edges with feet on the bowls and vessels are my specialty.
